Take Home Folders
Please look in your child’s backpack each day. These Red folders are sent home everyday with your child and contain important school notes, and completed work. These folders are to be looked at and emptied out each night and sent back in with your child the next day of school. This is a great means of communication as we can send notes of concern back and forth to each other. Please look at these nightly because the papers will accumulate quickly and become overwhelming. Be positive and value the work your child has done at school.
When my children had these in elementary school, we made it part of our night time ritual. Finished work lends itself well to conversation about what they are working on in school. When you take pride in them and their great work they value their education. After we went through the papers in the folder together, we picked out their best work or important notes and hung them on our refrigerator. Lastly we put the take home folder back inside their backpack and placed the backpack next to the front door so we didn't walk out without it :)
