Clothes Pin Build
With letters of the alphabet onto clothes pins, attach clothes pins to a large paint stir stick and build the sight word(s)
Write in the Sand
Fill a plastic pencil box with colored sand add some glitter and a pencil that has not been sharpened and students can write the sight word(s) over and over again by simply closing the pencil box and shaking gently to erase.
Bumpy Words
Using sand paper or a needlepoint grid, place a piece of plain paper over the top and write the sight word(s) with crayons.
Play-Doh
Roll play-doh into thin snakes and manipulate to form each letter for the sight word(s)
Pipe Cleaners
Manipulate pipe cleaner to form each individual letter of the sight word your building
Wiki Sticks
Manipulate wiki sticks to form each individual letter of the sight word your building
Beans, Unifex cubes, stones, small pom-pom balls
Make the shape of each letter using one of the above materials to build sight word(s)
Shaving Cream
Squirt some out on a table that needs cleaning, smooth it out and write the letters with your finger, smooth it out again and try another word
Type it Out
Using a keyboard and computer or an ipad/tablet notepad - type out the sight word(s)
Word necklace/bracelet
Using alphabet beads, string the letters onto yarn/string/shoelace
Write letters to the sight word an an index card, cut them out, mix them up and rearrange them
Keep them in a box and accumulate them to use later on when building more and more words
