Drop Off/Pick-Up Times
Classroom doors open at 8:15 a.m. Students may arrive at 8:00 a.m. but are expected to wait in the library or breakfast area until their classroom opens. Students will be marked tardy after 8:20 (except for late bus arrivals) so please try to be on time if you are bringing them to school.
School is dismissed at 3:15 p.m. If you are picking up your child from school early, you must sign them out in the office. If you are picking them up at the end of the day and they are normally a bus rider, I MUST have a note from you otherwise your child will be sent home as normal procedure. *Keep your child’s transportation tag on his/her school bag for the first couple weeks of school.
***Please keep in mind that when your child is tardy they disrupt the educational process for all students when they enter the room. At this age, the students are so excited when their friend finally arrives that they have to express their happiness at seeing them by shouting out their hello's or getting up to greet them with a warm hug while in some aspects this is very endearing, it takes away from the learning that is taking place. Hence please keep these at a minimal preferably for appointments (Doctor and Dental).
Also, if you pick your child up early because you want to avoid the congested parking lot, they are missing out on learning. Often times we are still engaged in our literacy block up until 3:05 and depending on the table/station rotation, it may be with me in their small guided reading group. I ask in advance that you please be considerate of this and do not make it a habit of picking them up prior to 3:05.
